Weekends

Last week was the longest week ever! I can't even put into words how exhausted I feel.  The weekend was a lot of fun. We went tubing in Helen with David, Lisa and Ethan on Saturday and helped out with the Kids Jamm Carnival on Sunday.  Jason brought home two fish from the carnival...they are still alive! Bauer is very fascinated by them! I am hoping I can get some much needed rest this coming up weekend. I am really looking forward to having some fun in Chicago with Hannah, Brien and Ruthie!
Our first cross country meet is tomorrow! I hope all of my runners do well! This season's runners have already shown great potential.  School is going well.  This week we are finishing up our first units and getting ready to start our new units. Sixth grade will be starting Ultimate Frisbee and 7th grade will be playing Flag Football! Speaking of football, I can't wait for it to start this weekend! Go Mountaineers and Roll Tide!
Anyway...can't wait for the weekend!

Curriculum Night

Well, it's another long day at school. Tonight is curriculum night! I probably won't be home until 8:30 pm, but it's fun to get to meet some of the parents and go over what we will be doing this year! Last night I went to bed at 8:00 pm...I was completely and utterly exhausted in every way possible. I wish I could say it is going to get better, but unfortunately I cannot. Basketball starts immediately after Cross Country season. I will be free in February, so until then you will have to make an appointment to see me.

This weekend should be fun. Lisa, my sister-in-law is having a birthday on Thursday! Happy Birthday sis-in-law! We are going to Helen on Saturday to go tubing! I have never been tubing before, so I'm really looking forward to it!

Lord willing, tomorrow is another day...I am thankful!

Busy Body

We just started school and I already need a break. I am sooo busy! My feet hurt everyday when I come home from school and cross country practice. I'm ready to go straight to bed...that's sad. I feel like I need a vacation!

School is still going well, with just a few minor problems. My 7th graders are playing Ultimate Frisbee right now and my 6th graders have been playing cooperative games and are now creating their own games! It is a lot of fun to see them be so creative and work together to accomplish a task! Our cross country team is doing well. They are all working very hard and getting better everyday!

In other news, Jason is getting ready to leave for a long trip to Yosemite. I think he's excited about it and I hope he has a lot of fun. I will be rather anxious about it because I won't have any contact with him due to the fact that they will be in the woods with no cell phone coverage. Hannah, Brien and I will be going to Chicago to visit Ruthie over the Labor Day weekend. I am looking forward to it! We are going to see the White Sox play!!

Exhausted

Well, it's the end of the first week of school and cross country practice and I am exhausted!! I literally fell asleep at 5:00 pm on Wednesday and slept for three hours before going to bed. It is going to take me awhile to adjust to being soo busy and physically active pretty much all day. I love what I do, but it's very draining physically.

School went well this week, except for a few minor behavior problems presented in one of my 6th grade classes. I didn't expect it to come from them! Right now we are doing Cooperative Games in 6th grade and Ultimate Frisbee in 7th grade. I was reminded of Noah today. One of the lower school student's is named Noah. Their teacher called his name and it made me sad and my heart sank, because David and Lisa and all of us can't hold him and see him. :-( I had a dream the other day of Jesus holding him and rocking him and I could see his face and his eyes open wide looking into the face of Jesus. It seemed so real, I wonder if that is what is happening.

Cross country practice is going well so far, despite the fact that I only have 8 runners. They all seem to be very dedicated and I am looking forward to a very good season.

Jason and I are going on a date tonight!! We are going to see "The Time Traveler's Wife." It looks like it will be a pretty good movie! I can't wait.

My First Blog Post

Today I decided to start a blog. I would like to have something I can go back and read a few years from now. Today was the first day back to school for teachers and it was pretty uneventful. Although, it was nice to see all of my colleagues. I am finally starting to run again, but I am very sore today! I'm not really looking forward to the exhaustion that lies ahead this school year.
I will be coaching cross country and middle school girls basketball. I will be super busy! I continue to pray for my sister-in-law and brother-in-law for the struggle they are going through on a daily basis. They lost their little baby, Noah a few weeks ago. My heart is very heavy for them and for the loss of my nephew. We all lean on the Lord, for His strength is made perfect in our weakness.
